Fred Chong, a Malaysian, is the founder and Group CEO of Prodigee Media and WebTVAsia.
He is also an established songwriter, music producer and multi-genre creator. Since its founding in 2005, Fred has built Prodigee Media multi-platform business in film, TV and music production, as well as artiste and events management, leveraging on the exponential rise of digital media worldwide for cross promotion and marketing.
Armed with vast experience in digital marketing, he ventured into the Multi-Channel Network business by forming WebTVAsia in 2013. Fred earned personal accolades for his contribution to the entertainment industry, such as British Cultural Committee’s Outstanding Music Producer of the Year 2008, International Effie Awards 2009 for curating Asia’s first ever online concert, Asia Dragons Awards 2012 for Best Integrating Marketing Campaign, as well as National Film Development Corporation (FINAS)’s Malaysia Film Festival Special Achievement Award 2013.
He is also active in charitable causes such as volunteering as music director and producer for the Singapore Cancer Society, and UNICEF. He loves writing songs, producing and traveling. Chu Soon Seng (Soon) is an established sound & music producer in the Film, TV, Commercial and Digital industries. He founded 101 Studios, an AIM Award winning audio production facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was instrumental in many of Prodigee Media’s breakthrough hits Nasi Lemak 2.0, Hantu Gangster, Kara King, Banglasia and Malaysian top YouTuber Namewee.
He is currently the CEO of WebTVAsia Thailand, one of the fastest growing digital video markets in Asia, heading a team of highly creative producers and digital media professionals.
Desmond Ngai is a seasoned entrepreneur, consultant and professional in the Asia Pacific media and entertainment industry since 2007.
He is currently the Vice President, Strategy and Partnerships of WebTVAsia, the fastest growing Multi Channel Network and Digital Studio in Asia which he co-founded with his partners Fred Chong and Soon Seng Chu. Prior to this, he was Head of Investment at Malaysian government agency Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) where he led Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) promotion of the nation’s creative multimedia sectors.
Desmond had also extensive stints with leading media companies Media Prima, Endemol and Total Sports Asia.
